DIY: Lilly Pulitzer-Inspired Whales

Happy New Year! On my final day of Winter Break (tears) my sister was begging for us to do a craft. At first, she suggested modge podge (too messy) and then making a mason jar to collect memories from the year (I couldn't find any mason jars). So, I thought of Plan C, using my old Lilly Pulitzer agendas. Last summer, I had planned on modge podging a desk chair with my old printed planner paper, but never got around to it (it's a goal for next summer). After scrolling through my Pinterest page, we thought it would be fun to trace and cut out prints that look like the Vineyard Vines whale. This is an easy, clean, and cute craft that will catch the eye of any prep.

Step-By-Step Directions
1. Make a whale template by tracing around a Vineyard Vines sticker or cutting out a print out
2. Select the print you are going to use
3. Figure out which way you want your whale to face
4. Trace the template  on the BACK SIDE of the printed paper to refrain from showing pencil marks
5. Cut out your whale
6. Voila!

If you want to go the extra mile...
1. When cutting, try to only cut around the whale
2. Find cute lined paper (inside of the agenda) or the colored paper of your choice
3. Use wide clear tape to tape the excess printed paper onto the lined paper
4. Cut out the shape of the whale to create a printed border around the lined paper

Possible Uses for your Preppy Whales
1. Business Card
2. LuggageTag
3. Minature Whiteboard (post 7 to a wall and you have a weekly calendar!)
4. Birthday Card
5. Stickers for your car, computer, wall, etc.

We had so much fun making our colorful whales and I hope you do the same. Let me know in the comments of your fun ways to use old Lilly prints or show me where you put your prepped out whales!
